The main focus of our counseling
program is to help students be successful in school. This may involve talking
about personal and academic issues that have
affected the student's academic achievement. Students who want to see their
counselor during the school day need to fill out a "Request to See My
Counselor" form so the counselor can send for the student during the day.
This form is located in the Counseling Center. Otherwise, the student can stop
by, before and after school, or during lunch and nutrition break.
Our counselors welcome the
opportunity to meet with students and parents, and are available for
appointments during the school day. Parents may contact the Counseling Center
at (619) 498-2720 for conferences, to get an update on student progress, to
obtain homework when a student is going to be absent for three days or more,
obtain community resources to assist with personal, family, or academic problems.
Homework Request Policy:
Students must miss a minimum of 3
days to request homework through the Counseling Center. If the student is out
less than three days, we recommend they request work from their teachers upon
their return.
